Default Couple n00b Questions

Hello everyone! I just got started with Guild Wars (thus far, I only have Prophecies), and I've come upon a few things I'm not entirely sure of, and am hoping someone here will be able to help me out.

In regard to runes and armor...Right now, my character (Warrior/Monk) is equipped with a full set of Ascalon Armor. On each piece, it says it confers -3 to physical damage. So...if I have 4 pieces of this armor, does that mean I have a -12 to physical damage? I'm a bit confused because it doesn't say whether this bonus is stackable or unstackable.

And last question for now...concerning (stackable) and (unstackable) items. My helmet says it confers a +1 to Swordsmanship (stackable). But if I place a rune that says it is +2 to Swordsmanship (unstackable), that means I will only have a +2, right? OR...would it still stack since the Rune and the Helmet aren't the same type of item?

The last one is especially confusing for me. hehe Any help on how to tell what is and is not stackable would be GREATLY appreciated.

I think the -3 per piece gives you a -3 always, since it will be -3 nomatter where you get hit, I dont believe its -12 total.

Secondly, the helmet is stackable, so if you add a +2 rune to it, you have +3 total, you justt cant put like +2 swordsmanship on yoru helmet, and +2 swordsmanship on your chest and have +4 swordsmanship, thats what they mean unstackable.

About your armor. It is -3 at that certain place on your body. -3 on your arms/chest/legs/and feet respectively. Not -12 overall. Runes however, The helmet will always add on to the rune. Unstackable means that if you have, say a Superior Swordsmanship rune and a minor Swordsmanship rune on your armor, you will only get the +3 from the Superior and the minor is just there adding nothing to your attributes. So if you have a swordsmanship +1 helmet, a Superior Swordsmanship and a Minor swordsmanship, you will only get +4 to swordsmanship attribute. Not 5.

Check this thread out::: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10112001

It should answer most of your questions about armor & runes.

Wow! I had no idea attacks could target different body parts! Is there some way to tell what part is being hit? Or some way to target a specific part on someone yourself?

Okay, I think I got the runes thing figured out now, but I want to make sure. If I understand correctly, a rune that says (unstackable) means it is unstackable with another rune of the same type/name. But they will still stack with bonuses that came imbedded in the armor. It doesn't matter where on my armor I place, say, a rune of Vigor...ie, if I have one on my helmet and put another on my chest, they still won't stack with each other. BUT a rune of vitae and a rune of vigor -would- stack with each other...am I getting this so far?

One more quick question...is there any way to ever increase the number of slots in my storage? I know you can get runes of holding to up the size of the bags you carry from 5 to 10 (do those work on the belt pouches too?) but what about the "bank" itself?

Thanks for all the help so far, guys.

vigor and vitae will stack.
vitae and vitea will stack
vigor and vigor - no stack

Sorry cant make the storage larger, nor do rune of holding work on beltpouch or backpack.

Technically there is a way to find body part you are hit on.
take off your helmet.
when you get hit for like 200 dmg by a normal attack, that was your head :P

You can read about rune usage and armor vs damage on guildwiki at
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page

They test everything.
